Baba is SO SILLY

He was supposed to be playing with me. This is what happened instead. I ran inside to tell on him to mommy. The conversation went something like this:

Me: "Mommy, Baba isn't playing with me!"
Mommy: "Why not, baby?"
Me: "He's asleep!
"Mommy: "Where?"
Me: "In my bounce house."
Mommy: "What were you doing?"
Me: "Bouncing."
Mommy: "And Baba fell asleep while you were bouncing?"
Me: "Yeah."
Mommy: "This needs to go on Facebook."

Then we walked outside to my bounce house and mommy saw this. She immediately took a picture and posted it on her Facebook page. Baba didn't wake up until after she had 4 comments. I kept bouncing. You can't stop Tenacious-C!

Oooh - smoked salmon pinwheels!

I stuck my little fingers in to each one and fished out all of the cheese. Then I gave the smoked salmon to mommy. We make a great team!

A conversation from the weekend:

En route to the Easter Egg Hunt, I told mommy: "I'm going to go hug the Easter Bunny and pet him and carry him to my car."

Mommy: "But honey, the Easter Bunny is as big as daddy!"

My revised plan: "Good, then he can walk. I won't need to carry him."

A GREAT plan.

Easter Eggs, Egg Hunts, Bunnies, Bouncing and Animals galore!

Oh BOY did we have a lot of fun this weekend!

We kicked off Earth Day (Friday) by taking the day off work and heading to the California Science Center. We lunched at the Border Grill truck (I really liked Mary Sue Milliken's ceviche) and spent lots of time exploring the various exhibits, including the new Ecosystems exhibit.

On Saturday, we left home early in the morning to head to La Canada with Amma and Baba. Dilbeck hosted their annual Easter party at Memorial Park -- and it was fantastic! First, we were greeted by our realtor, Shirley Owens, who gave us balloons. Then we bought some raffle tickets to see if we could win a stuffed bunny (and I did win one -- hooray!). Next, we headed over to the petting zoo, where daddy picked up some baby goats for me to pet (I tried to do the same later). They also had baby alpacas, fluffy chickens, sheep and - of course - bunnies! Next, it was time for the Easter Egg hunt and photo ops with the Easter Bunny. I forgot my Easter basket, so I emptied my Hello Kitty lunchbag and used that. It worked -- and I got lots of candy for daddy to eat! After the egg hunt, I practically RAN to the bounce house. When I needed a break, I treated myself to a pedicure (with bright pink polish!) and an Easter tattoo. Then it was time to bounce again. I also played some games, got my hand painted (Elmo's head popping out of an Easter egg to fit the theme), pinned the tail on the bunny and engaged in an egg relay race before heading back to the animal pen to pet more bunnies and hug more goats. They felt the love. To top it all off, Twinkle and Friends performed! All of the kids were invited to join them to dance at the front of the stage! I think I liked this part best. I danced, danced, and danced to my heart's delight! I had such a great time and enjoyed their performance so much that I insisted on taking pictures with them at the end, too.

This morning, I went with mommy, daddy and Amma to Giggles N Hugs in Century City for Easter brunch. I spent some quality time with the Easter Bunny there too, and made out like a bandit in the Easter egg hunt before having breakfast and playing in the GNH play area! I had a lot of fun there, too. Later, we had some tea and crackers. What a lovely Sunday!

Here are some pictures from yesterday's festivities in LC:

Dancing with some of the kids at the Twinkle & Friends performance.

Enjoying some entertainment. I had a comfy seat.

Hey goaty goaty! Come here so I can give you a hug!

Pretty cool tattoo, isn't it? I chose what tattoos we all had. Daddy got a pink bunny. Baba was assigned an equally masculine pink egg with a duck popping out of it. Amma had a sheep tattoo'd on her hand. And for mommy, I chose a fluffy bunny pulling an easter egg cart with a ducky in it.

Getting ready to run to collect eggs in the Easter egg hunt!

Hoppy Easter!

From me and my Easter buddy.

Good morning, sleepyheads!

It's time to wake up and play with me!

I made some delicious rose petal soup

I kept telling mommy that I had to cook it some more to make it soft enough for her. Amma made a funny face when I used an orchid stem to stir, but what did she expect me to use - she hides her spatulas!

My rose petal soup has extra flavor (and maybe some protein, too) because I kept sticking my hands in the goldfish bowl, then alternating back to my rose petal soup. Who's hungry?

Chipotle makes weekends more fun!

Every Saturday and Sunday through May 1, Chipotle is offering free kids' meals with the purchase of an adult meal. As much as mommy and daddy love Chipotle, you can be sure that we're taking advantage of this at least once a week! While mommy and daddy eat their steak tacos, I have some of what I call "holy moly guacamole with cheese tacos!"

Notice my Tinker Bell ring. Mommy told me it's a special magic eating ring. It helps me sit still and eat while we're enjyoing holy moly guacamole and cheese tacos! YUM.

Here's my slide:

Aunt Pook-Pook bounced with me!

Woohoo!

My bounce house also has a slide (in the foreground in red). When we needed a break from bouncing, we slid down the slide a few hundred times, then bounced again! Endless fun.

Okay, the drive was worth it

I got a bounce house! My very own! Of course, Amma and Baba claimed credit for it because it was at their house, but I know the truth. The UPS man loves me! He's always bringing me great things.

Are we there yet?

Daddy was out of town for another one of those stinking work trips. Mommy and I went to Amma and Baba's house for the weekend -- here I am in the car while we were on our way there. I was not very patient, though. I kept asking if we were there yet! Mommy thought she had a few years before she starteed hearing that refrain. WRONG.

Chocolate + Easter = CarolineChocolateFace

Mommy's friend Jeannine is starting a chocolate company. Jeannine and I see eye to eye on the most important aspect of her company: the dark chocolate. So naturally, she asked me to serve as her company's official taster. Well, I'm happy to take one for the team wherever possible.

Here I am sampling one of Jeannine's chocolate bunnies. He didn't need those ears. But I did!

Don't mess with a girl and her shoes

My blog is designed to be both entertaining and informative, so today I offer a public service announcement. If I'm wearing your red heels, I do not recommend that you try to take them off of me, even if you plan to wear them that day. Find other shoes. I chose your shoes for a reason. They match my outfit. I do not want to change them. Thank you in advance for your courtesy and understanding.

I'm going to work now!

I disappeared into mommy's closet for a minute this morning. When I came out, I was wearing mommy's red heels and had her purse on my shoulder. Then I told mommy to give me a kiss because I was going to work. I told her I would be home soon, though. I know she would miss me if I were to work for too long.

Garbage!

Daddy's company sent him away AGAIN. Blekht. This is garbage! But mommy was here with me, and we had lots of fun. Mommy bought me a bounce house and had it shipped directly to Amma and Baba's house! Bribery works. We went to Amma and Baba's for the weekend last weekend and had a fantastic time in their back yard! I bounced for hours - and even then I didn't want to get out! There is no such thing as too much bouncing. I even wanted to eat meals in my bounce house. Hey mommy, instead of looking for some piece of junk house in La Canada or on the Westside so we have enough of a back yard to justify buying a bounce house, how about we just move into a bounce house and cut out the middle man? Yeah, I'm destined for greatness. Just look at all of the fantastic ideas I have!

Caroline StrawBerryFace is holding a CroissantUmbrella with her LemurHand

We got all kinds of things at the Farmer's Market: strawberries (ergo my face), a croissant (ergo my umbrella) and a lemur sticker. We also got some things you don't see, like freshly-squeezed orange juice, freshly-pressed carrot juice, grapefruit, local artisan cheese and grapes. If you saw my belly, you'd see those, too.

A TINKERBELL CHAIR!

I've been using a little blue, green and white booster seat to eat since I as very, very small. It's gotten to the point that I'm a little too big for the chair. Besides, mommy and daddy thought it was time for a big girl desk for me. So they got this chair from Amazon. I was so excited that I didn't care if daddy was still putting the chair together -- I was going to sit there, darn it! Daddy asked me to get up for a minute. So I did. But only for a minute. Within moments, I was inching toward my chair again. And who could blame me?!
All done! It's my turn to play! And to test the durability.

Of course, I also need to shift around the cup and make sure my mac and cheese in front of me exactly where I want it. These are important things.

Lucky Charms!

When Aunt Pook-Pook was a little girl, she used to separate all of the marshmallows out of the Lucky Charms cereal, leaving mommy with only the bland cereal and none of the fun treats. I sensed that mommy was disappointed to have to eat her own marshmallows now, so I decided to help her with that problem. I'm SO thoughtful.

Okay mister, but I'm going to hold you to that promise!

Gymboree bubbles are the BEST!

They last a long time so even if I can't catch them while they're still in the air, I can still stomp on them when they land! Of course, that doesn't deter me from trying to catch them all in the air.

I'm a trickster! But Daddy is too! Ack.

Daddy went to bed really late this weekend. When I woke up at 7am, I was ready for him to get up and play with me. He was not so convinced. So I put my feet in his face to try to entice him to wake up. Well that scoundrel hugged me and my little Caroline legs! Drats -- foiled again! I'll have to try again tomorrow. But I did score a major win in that he did wake up and play with me. Caroline is the victor!

Brentwood Art Bounce!

Today is the day of the Brentwood Art Walk. The city closes San Vicente Blvd. to set up all kinds of interesting booths. There were painters, sculptors, musicians and artisans, plus a Red Cross booth to donate to relief efforts in Japan, an earthquake simulator to teach kids what to do in the event of a major quake, lots of booths offering snacks, samples and balloons and ... most importantly to me ... bounce houses and slides! I spent nearly three hours bouncing to my heart's content. I told mommy I was just trying to get her money's worth for the unlimited bounce. And most of the time, I had the bounce house all to myself! Squee!

It's a good thing we loaded up on snacks at the Farmer's Market beforehand and collected snacks from the sampling booths. I don't know what I would have done without strawberries and freshly-squeezed orange juice and the healthy puffs, crackers and other goodies from the Art Walk!

An expert negotiator in the making

Mommy is a very good negotiator. She has to be -- it's part of her job description.

I'm learning early, as well. I have learned to ask for something, and if I'm met with any resistance, I say "pleeeeeeeeease?" and bat my eyelashes. Yes I really do this -- this is not an April Fools prank. And it works. Really well. "Please" really IS the magic word!

Have you people seen all the toys in my room?! I get everything I want by asking nicely.
