Water!

I get very thirsty in the middle of the night. I almost always wake up at 4am asking for water. Then it takes some time to coax me to go back to sleep. Normally, I just stare at mommy and say "hiiiiiiiiiii!" until she gets up to play with me. We play, we cuddle, I jump on her bed, I pretend like I need to use the potty (but instead demand that she finds doggies in a magazine and rip them out for me), and eventually I decide I'll go back to sleep again.

Hey, if these people are going to leave me during the day while they go off to work, I have to get my play time in with them when they're home *somehow*!! And if that's at 4am, so be it!
